It is with heartfelt gratitude that we announce the retirement of Keith Wilson, who officially stepped down from his role as Director of Community Development and Schools, with USTA Alabama on July 31 after 16 years of dedicated service.
Keith’s contributions to tennis in Alabama—and across the South—have been truly impactful. He worked closely with Community Tennis Associations (CTAs) and schools throughout the state, helping grow the game from the grassroots up. His efforts were instrumental in training coaches and providers, and he played a vital role in teaching schoolteachers how to introduce tennis in their classrooms, ensuring the sport reached younger generations.
One of Keith’s signature roles was serving as the Tournament Director for the Tennis on Campus program. Each year, he helped organize and run events that brought together college club teams from across the southern section, creating competitive and fun opportunities for students to stay engaged with tennis.
Keith’s passion for the sport, his kindness, and his commitment to growing tennis in communities of all sizes have left a lasting legacy. He will be greatly missed by colleagues, partners, and the many individuals he worked with over the years.
Please join us in thanking Keith for his years of service and wishing him the very best in his well-earned retirement. We hope this next chapter is filled with relaxation, adventure, and everything he enjoys most!
